ABOUT HER

As the University of Texas at Arlington’s first Chief Sustainability Officer, Meghna Tare drives innovation by fostering partnerships within the university and collaboration throughout the North Texas region and beyond. With her advanced degrees in Sustainable Management, Environmental Science, and Chemistry, she has a strong track record for setting ambitious goals, guiding strategies, developing and executing plans.  

Meghna spearheaded the launch of a Regional Center of Expertise for Education in Sustainable Development Goals in North Texas, a program of the United Nations University, and the Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact at UT Arlington. She serves on multiple regional, national and international boards and has won numerous awards for her transformative work. She is also a TEDx speaker. She loves to travel and enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband and her twin boys “who keep me humble.”
